Glastonbury Festival 2025
Scaling Pee-Equality Across One of the World’s Largest Festivals

THE FULL STORY
THE STORY SNAPSHOT
- Event: Glastonbury Festival
- Location & year: Worthy Farm, Somerset, 2025
- Audience size / footfall: 210,000
PEEQUAL units installed:
- 132 units across 11 locations
Key outcomes:
- 132 units installed in just 4 days
- Up to 20,000+ users at some Peequal locations over the weekend
- 13,000 women served at a single site in one evening
- Shorter queues and smoother flow across high-demand areas
Over four consecutive years, PEEQUAL has grown from a pilot to trusted, large-scale festival infrastructure at Glastonbury.
THE PROBLEM:
Glastonbury Festival presents one of the most complex temporary sanitation challenges in the world. With huge daily footfall, peak-time surges, and a site spread across vast terrain, toilets must operate reliably under sustained pressure.
Women and AFAB festivalgoers are disproportionately affected when access is slow, overcrowded, or poorly distributed. Long queues can dominate the experience, particularly during evening peaks, while traditional temporary solutions struggle to deliver both throughput and dignity at scale.
Alongside access and equality, Glastonbury places high importance on:
- Operational efficiency
- Environmental responsibility
- Proven, reliable infrastructure partners
Any solution deployed at Glastonbury must perform repeatedly, year after year, under extreme demand.

WHY PEEQUAL?
By 2025, PEEQUAL had become a known and trusted part of Glastonbury’s sanitation strategy, following four consecutive years on site.
PEEQUAL was selected because it:
- Delivers high-throughput access
- Performs reliably at extreme scale and peak demand
- Integrates seamlessly into existing waste infrastructure
- Is fast to deploy, manage, and remove
- Aligns with Glastonbury’s sustainability and inclusion values
Its continued expansion across the site reflects confidence not just in the concept, but in the operational delivery.
As always, it’s great to have PEEQUAL back on site, they have a really positive impact and vastly improve the toilet options we can offer the festival-goers. The PEEQUAL’s are always well received and we are looking forward to having even more next year!

THE SOLUTION
In 2025, PEEQUAL delivered its largest Glastonbury deployment to date:
- 132 urinal units
- Installed across 11 locations
- Built and installed in 4 days
- Full set-down completed in under one week
Rapid deployment & integration
- Each unit assembled in approximately 90 seconds
- Fork-pocket base design enabled efficient positioning
- Units plumbed together and connected directly to existing waste tanks, eliminating the need for emptying during the festival
On-site collaboration
Delivery was supported by close collaboration between:
- PEEQUAL staff
- WaterAid volunteers
Together, they:
- Maintained clean, safe, and private facilities
- Actively supported festivalgoers in using the units
- Normalised the experience through visible, friendly guidance
This turned the urinals from simple infrastructure into a trusted, well-managed festival resource

THE IMPACT & RESULTS
Scale & throughput
- 13,000 women used PEEQUAL at a single site in one evening
- 20,000+ users at some locations over the course of the weekend
- Wide site coverage resulted in shorter queues and smoother flow, easing pressure on other toilet facilities
Operational benefits
- Reduced need for constant monitoring
- Minimal maintenance during the event
- Units remained fully operational throughout the festival
